Sound Operator

Sound Operators are responsible for the setup, operation, monitoring, and maintenance of
sound equipment used in live events, broadcasting, studio recording, theatre, film, television,
and other multimedia environments. This qualification equips learners with the technical and
practical skills required to deliver high-quality audio, apply sound principles across different
production settings, and comply with industry safety standards. Graduates are prepared to work
collaboratively within production teams and adapt to evolving audio technologies.

1. Set up, operate, and dismantle sound equipment for live and recorded productions.
2. Control, mix, and balance audio signals to achieve clear and professional sound output.
3. Apply sound principles appropriate to studios, live venues, broadcast, and multimedia platforms.
4. Maintain, test, and troubleshoot sound equipment and systems.
5. Apply health, safety, and industry regulations in audio production environments.
6. Work effectively as part of a technical or production team.
